Blood Services Transportation Specialist - Durham NC Area

Location: Greater Triangle Area Chapter Red Cross

Help Save Lives in your community by transporting blood!

Save lives by simply delivering blood and blood products from our blood distribution centers to local hospitals.

The American Red Cross needs volunteers to transport blood and blood products in a safe and timely manner using Red Cross vehicles.

Responsibilities: * Transport blood or blood products from blood distribution center to local hospitals. * Pick up and return boxes as needed. * Complete required paperwork and obtain signatures. * Communicate and share feedback between Red Cross personnel and customers. * Drive in a safe and responsible manner.

Qualifications: * Commit to 1-2 shifts each month for a minimum of 6 months (daytime, evening and weekend shifts available) * Valid NC state driver’s license - 3 years driving experience. * Able to verify safe driving records with state or insurance. * Reliability is a must.* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (for hospital deliveries) * Successful completion of online American Red Cross Defensive Driving Course.

This position begins in the Raleigh/Durham area only and includes the pick-up of a Red Cross vehicle (minivan or sprinter van) at the beginning of each shift.
