Sorting, Stocking and Packing Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to fill 2, 3 or 4 hour shifts Monday through Friday at West Suburban Community Pantry. Volunteers will be assisting with sorting incoming food donations, stocking pantry shelves and packing boxes of non-perishable food items that will be distributed to clients. Potential volunteers need to fill out a volunteer application from the pantry website, wscpantry.org, as well as participate in a volunteer orientation.

The West Suburban Community Pantry offers food for the hungry and resources to empower persons to improve their quality of life. Our Vision is a community without hunger.

Description

Incorporated in 1992, the West Suburban Community Pantry provides food and supportive programming opportunities for those in need in DuPage County.

The Pantry offers nutrition classes and child safety classes.

Breakfast is provided by the pantry every school day for 1300 students whose families qualify for the free or reduced fee lunch program.

Adopt a Family programs bring a little extra to those we serve, both at Thanksgiving and at Christmas.

  • Volunteers are not required to volunteer for a specified number of shifts. Once approved, volunteers can sign up for shifts based on their availability.
  • Currently, West Suburban Community Pantry does not accept volunteers seeking to fulfill court-ordered community service hours.
