October is the 1st Anniversary of the HANNA Foundation's HANNA's Pantry. HANNA's Pantry along with its partners Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and Susquehanna Township School District provides the residents of Susquehanna Township with a place to obtain fresh food, pantry staples, and essential products to address food insecurities in Township families. Since its opening in September 2019 and coupled with the Covid-19 pandemic demands the pantry has experienced a two-fold increase. HANNA’s Pantry saw an immediate surge in participation starting in mid-March and into May, especially from larger families, those with limited English proficiency, and those in search of supplies for infants. Participation more than doubled from 74 households in February to over 180 households to date. Net proceeds from the Susquehanna Township Food Truck Festival will benefit HANNA's Pantry.
In addition to the HANNA's Pantry celebration we plan on selling hardy mums and pumpkins to benefit our PInk Out Breast Cancer Awareness & Support activities in recognition of October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Vickie's Angel Foundation and Pink Hands Hope will benefit from the hardy mums and pumpkins sale.
We need volunteers to manage the day of activities especially with the added Covid-19 requirements.
