The Alzheimer's Association California Southland Chapter is looking for volunteers to help us with our newest national signature event, The Longest Day. Be part of The Longest Day Volunteer Committee where you will play a vital role in team recruitment and cultivation, as well as marketing and promoting the event throughout our chapter territory. We are looking for people who would like to turn their hobbies into a fundraising event and support our Longest Day efforts.
The Longest Day is the day with the most light - the summer solstice. Team up with the Alzheimer’s Association any day of the year by the summer solstice and turn your favorite activity into a fundraiser to help end Alzheimer’s. The day with the most light is the day we fight!

In 1979, Jerome H. Stone and representatives from several family support groups met with the National Institute on Aging to explore the value of a national, independent, nonprofit organization to complement federal efforts surrounding Alzheimer's disease. That meeting resulted in the April 10, 1980, formation of the Alzheimer's Association with Mr. Stone as founding president.
Today, the Association reaches millions of people affected by Alzheimer’s across the globe through our national office and chapters in communities nationwide. We are the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
