ORGANIZATION: SOCIAL ENTERPRISE GREENHOUSE

  • 2 people are interested

Social Enterprise Greenhouse creates positive social and economic impact by providing social entrepreneurs and enterprises with the tools and networks they need to thrive. We also foster an ecosystem of diverse stakeholders who work to enable a more just, equitable and resilient economy.

SEG and community stakeholders in Central Falls and Pawtucket have been providing services for Spanish speaking entrepreneurs since the spring of 2019. This includes a Spanish language Incubator for aspiring entrepreneurs and classes in financial literacy. We are launching our first Spanish language Accelerator this October. The Accelerator provides entrepreneurs with the tools, networks and resources to validate their idea, understand their clients and formalize growth strategies from fundraising to measuring social impact.

We are looking for bilingual volunteers who have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Accounting and Finance
  • Business Model/Plan Development
  • Legal
  • Operations
  • Technology

SEG Volunteers engage with our entrepreneurs by advising them in one on one sessions, coaching them through an Incubator or Accelerator program or teaching a workshop during one of our programs.

We value the time and energy our Volunteers spend with our entrepreneurs and work with their schedule to find the best fit for their skill set and availability.

Mission Statement

Social Enterprise Greenhouse creates positive social and economic impact by providing social entrepreneurs and enterprises with the tools and networks they need to thrive. We also foster an ecosystem of diverse stakeholders who work to enable a more just, equitable and resilient economy.

Description

Since our pivot in 2009 from a chapter of the global network "Social Venture Partners", our mission has been to incubate and support social enterprise while simultaneously fostering a nurturing social impact ecosystem. In 2015, SEG’s relocation to our co-working space at 10 Davol Square, The SEG Hub, transformed the organization into the state’s leading neutral convener in the social sector. In 2016, the decision to offer programs targeting specific industries such as Food and Health & Wellness led to a significant increase in volunteers, mentors, corporate sponsors and strategic partnerships.
Today, SEG offers a robust menu of services that provide social entrepreneurs with the services they need throughout their lifecycle. We have become a trusted convener and technical assistance provider for organizations and businesses working to achieve both economic and community impact.
