Looking for female mentors who are interested in providing mentorship for girls, ages 8-18.

Raising BeYOUtiful Butterflies Mentor Program matches women with girls in one-to-one relationships throughout the academic year. Through these relationships, as well as recreational and group activities, our matches share friendship, support, and fun. Mentors and mentees get together at least once a week (via Zoom, phone, etc) or total of 10 hours a month. Both mentors and mentees make a commitment to spend time together throughout the year. They can participate in activities they both enjoy.

As a Raising BeYOUtiful Butterflies volunteer, you’ll assist girls in furthering her daily life skills such as self-confidence, self-esteem, academic excellence and moral values. To enable and help girls learn how to help herself and encourage her to make her own decisions and take responsibility for them, and show them they’re capable of more than they ever imagined. The mentors are not private tutors, although sometimes pairs decide to work on homework together. We plan social group activities on a monthly basis that are open to all participants. We are also available at all times to answer questions.

As mentors, you’re planting a seed that may not take root for years. But let me tell you, when it does, the benefits are undeniable." - Former First Lady Michelle Obama, National Mentoring Summit (2011)

Who Are We?

Raising BeYOUtiful Butterflies ("RBB"), a mentoring and empowerment organization. Our mission is to educate and empower girls ages 4-21 by inspiring them to recognize and embrace their own potential to be confident, self-sufficient, unique, determined, and powerful in their lives as well as in their communities, while encouraging sisterhood. In our work with girls, RBB aim is nothing less than empowerment. RBB defines an empowered girl as someone who knows her strengths and capabilities, isn’t afraid to embrace them, an active learner in school, a confident actor in her family and community, and ready to take on her biggest dreams. She believes in herself, knows her possibilities are endless, and lives in a community where she is treated equally, where parents, peers, and role models supports her growth and her goals.

What is the Butterflies Sister Troop Mentoring Program?

Through the Butterfly Sister Troop Mentoring Program, each one of our intelligent, young scholars is paired with a caring and professional woman who offers her guidance, trust, encouragement, and inspiration to help her develop into a responsible young woman poised to make a positive and lasting impact on the world. Through a one-on-one relationship, mentors not only help to guide scholars through adolescence, but they assist with life skills development by sharing thoughts and experiences, while modeling positive values and encouraging stability and structure. Oftentimes, our mentors find that while they are introducing new experiences that expand learning for our scholars, our girls end up teaching them a thing or two, as well.
