ORGANIZATION: The Shepherd's Center of Greater Winston Salem

We are starting new conference call based programming for our home bound seniors to help combat social isolation. We need instructors/facilitators!

  • Lead a discussion group or class via telephone conference call
  • Present weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly
  • Start a new, original program (do you have an idea?)
  • Host a current, ongoing group or class
  • Group size may vary based on program content but will average 6-12

Programs already planned include:

  • Weekly Gratitude Group, where everyone tells what they're grateful for and gets encouraged by others' gratitude.
  • Pet Tales: bi-weekly sharing of stories about furry friends
  • Poetry: sharing original and favorite poems
  • Book Share: recommending and sharing favorite books
  • "I should know that" common trivia game
  • "Where were you when?" discussion around past events

other ideas include discussion around cooking/recipes, word games, music, or whatever you can think of!!!!

Description

The Shepherd's Center of Greater Winston Salem recruits volunteers who provide medical and grocery transportation, minor home repairs, as well as home visitation and respite care through our Faith in Action Program. Our senior center provides opportunities to participate in activites, fellowship and educational programs.
