Help us share the ways Catholic Charities is making a difference in the Greater New Orleans Area, and build your resume on the way!

The communications intern will work under the Communications Coordinator. They will help produce marketing materials, assist in the creation of blog posts, and assist in the creation of social media content and posts, both in the gathering of media and info, as well as copy writing. Other duties as assigned. Intern should have good professional interpersonal skills, knowledge of social media and current social media trends, the ability to write well and clearly, excellent grammar and experience with Microsoft Word/Publisher. Should have own transportation. Candidate must be a college student. This is an unpaid internship.

Schedule: Flexible schedule, between 12 - 18 hours per week. A minimum of 3 month commitment is required. Possibility for remote work or hybrid work schedule.

Description

Since 1938 Catholic Charities has been offering life-giving programs, advocating for the voiceless and empowering the most vulnerable to foster a more just society. Catholic Charities has over 22 programs and twoaffiliated ministries in the eight civil parishes of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Our programs engage and serve members of the community from pre-birth to the elderly but all of them fall under one of the following areas:

  • children and families
  • domestic violence
  • education and young adults
  • food and nutrition
  • housing and homelessness
  • disaster recovery
  • immigration/refugee resettlement
  • justice and employment
  • physical and mental health
  • pro-life services
  • senior services
