Social Media Manager - Job Description - Haiti Now

Ayiti Now Corp is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Miami, Florida and created for empowering marginalized Haiti children of poverty (known as "Restavek" in Haitian Creole, the local language) through our educational and support programs.

"Your first assignment will be to start a fundraising campaign. Haiti Now will provide further guidance for you to have a quick and successful fundraiser."

Role brief: We’re seeking a social media manager to grow our followers, engage and retain them, and help convert them into leads, donors, and active fans and promoters of our organization. You should have command of best practices and trends in social media marketing, enjoy being creative, and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience.

Responsibilities:

Build and manage our social media profiles and presence including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, and potentially additional channels (Snapchat, Instagram, Vine, etc.
Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to both spread our brand and our content and links.
Listen and engage in relevant social discussion about our organization and/or industry, both from existing customers and leads and from brand new audiences that don’t yet know us.
Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success, ranging from Twitter chats, to Google+ Hangouts, to LinkedIn conversations, as well as the content and links posted through these and other channels.
Collaborate alongside other marketers and content producers to help distribute content that educates and entertains our audience.
Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence.
Explore new ways to engage and new social networks to reach our target donors.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Requirements for this position, including educational qualifications, preferred/required experience, required certifications, preferred experience, time commitment requirements, etc.
Fluent in spoken and written English, able to communicate clearly and consistently (this is required as most Haiti Now volunteers communicate in English)
Reliable internet connection a must (this is required as most volunteers work virtually or through the Internet)
Minimum volunteer hours expected: 7-10 hrs per week (this is required and the average time commitment for Haiti Now volunteers; please note some positions may have different hourly requirements due to the nature of the position, such as for Project Managers
Proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Google Apps such as Drive, Sheets, etc. this is required as these tools are central to most volunteers’ contribution to Haiti Now
Familiarity with or quick adoption of Trello and Slack tools important (this is required as these tools are central to most volunteers’ contribution to Haiti Now)
