Minds Matter Detroit is a college prep program that helps low-income students get into their best fit college through SAT prep, mentoring, and summer enrichment programs.
This position is responsible for overseeing and implementing Minds Matter Saturday sessions, which take place between 9:45am - 2:45 pm. This position will oversee the operations academics, programming, and summer enrichment programs. It will also manage the Saturday sessions. They are responsible for the following:
Oversees/works with the Vice Presidents of the 3 areas of Minds Matter to prepare for and execute a cohesive Saturday session
The 3 areas are: Academics, Programming, and Summer Enrichment Programs.
Maintains a support team of individuals outside of the Vice Presidents with specific skill sets to assist in the execution of Saturday session
Maintain relationship with UofD Mercy security and maintenance staff
Once we are back to in-person sessions
Make certain volunteers and students are respectful of donated space leaving it in a condition equal to or better than upon arriving
Arrive first to Session to open and set up all zones
Order, pick up, set up, and break down breakfast and lunch
Students normally eat at the cafe on campus, so this is rarely needed
Maintain Minds Matter Attendance
Make sure all Minds Matter students and volunteers check in/ check out
Collect and distribute documents as necessary
Make certain all necessary materials are stocked and organized
Maintain auxiliary computers for student use as needed
Manages emergency contact protocol among all key stakeholders
For this position we are looking for someone with experience in running the operations for a non-profit or an organization that works with high school students.

Minds Matter brings bright and motivated high school students together with dedicated mentors to help them achieve academic excellence, expand educational horizons and ultimately gain acceptance to college. This is accomplished in a 3-year program that includes 32 Saturday sessions (half academic and half mentoring) per year and 2 Summer program.
There are three program components that differentiate Minds Matter from other organizations: academic instruction, individualized mentoring support, and summer enrichment programs.

Ideally this person would have a background in operating a non-profit's programming. Working with low-income high school students is a big plus.
