Florida Cancer Specialist Foundation is the part of the hospital that administers the treatment to cancer patients. Some patients have family or friends that come with them, but others are alone. We want to use this opportunity to life their spirts and let them know someone cares.

To accomplish this, we are asking people to make (or purchase) cards, with words of encouragement or holiday wishes (don't forget Valentine's day, 4th of July, etc.) that can be passed along to patients who are having a hard day. The cards will be generic so that they can be given to any gender, but they are adult only. If you wanted to make one for a specific group such as Veterans or ones in Spanish, you can do that-just attach a note stating that the card(s) are specifically for Veterans or in Spanish.

The cards are all for adults; however, children can help make the cards, but the adult volunteer(s) needs to be 55 or older.

We are unable to provide people with materials or money for the cards; however, we will cover the cost for supplies and shipping. You will ship them to the Seminole County RSVP Coordinator.

Just last year, 1,186 caring adult volunteers gave 438,683 hours of service. That is more than $9.5 million dollars worth of volunteer service being poured back into our communities.

Previously known as Florida Senior Programs, VCI has been the sponsoring agency for the REtired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and Foster Grandparent Programs since 1977. Our 36 year presence has proven our aptitude for providing meaningful and impactful volunteer experiences.

VCI provides membership benefits and support to volunteers aged 55+, at no cost to the volunteers or their volunteer stations. Just a few of the benefits of membership include: Supplemental insurance while volunteering, a dedicated coordinator, and matching to find the perfect position to fit the interest of the volunteer.
