Volunteer Dance Instructor

We are looking for passionate dance instructors to join our community at 5th Element Center for Dance. You will be responsible for teaching students in engaging virtual dance classes and/or workshops. This involves sharing theory and practice of your dance style to students.

• Communicating with a diverse group of students
• Engaging, encouraging, and motivating students to reach their goals
• Choreographing combos and selecting music for classes and/or workshops
• Provide a fun and creative and safe - physical, emotional, and psychological - environment virtually
• Show respect for all students
• Offer challenges that will raise students to the next level
• Help everyone, regardless of ability level, feel included
• Lead a safe warm-up prior to dance class to minimize the risk of injury and facilitate good practice
• Explain and demonstrate individual movements, sequences, and concepts to dance students
• Provide both leadership and vision in teaching techniques, theory, and performance
• Educate students about the background of the dance form that they are learning, by providing them with historical and cultural references

• Dedication and passion for dancing
• Energetic, driven, creative, and dependable character
• Demonstrate patience and leadership skills
• Previous teaching experience is preferred

Service as a volunteer with 5th Element Center for Dance is voluntary without remuneration.
