During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement
Jacob A. Riis Settlement is looking for volunteers to support students enrolled in our adult English classes for immigrants through 1:1 tutoring.
By providing extra language practice outside of their ESOL classes, you will help students improve their English skills for practical use such as in social, educational, or professional settings. Volunteers will be matched with an individual student based on mutual availability. Tutor resources and study materials will be provided. Tutoring begins during the last week of April
Bilingual volunteers (Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, etc.), volunteers with teaching or tutoring experience, and volunteers with TESOL/TEFL certifications are highly preferred!
Due to COVID-19 this is a remote volunteering opportunity. A brief interview and orientation with the Volunteer Coordinator will give more details. If interested, please reach out to Olivia Grondy at volunteerriis@gmail.com!
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
