Paterson, NJ, is a densely populated urban center with significant economic and societal challenges. To address the ongoing disparities that plague the city and its citizenry, additional Federal assistance will be needed. One measure to ensure that this assistance is available to Paterson is completion of the 2020 Census.
Paterson's Census response rate is currently 49.2%. Fewer than half of all Paterson households have completed the 2020 Census. We need to do better.
St. Paul's Community Development Corporation (SPCDC) is lending its support to this effort by recruiting volunteers willing to assist helping our Food Pantry recipients with completing the online Census form. Volunteers would staff an information table outside our Food Pantry where pantry recipients line up to receive their grocery packages.
Available Shifts: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. - Monday to Friday (closed during inclement weather events and on Federal holidays)
All Centers for Disease Control guidelines for social distancing and safety will be employed to keep volunteers and participants safe.
Bilingual volunteers (English/Spanish) are encouraged to sign-up.
