WHAT: Step up your volunteering game by leading groups of volunteers in serving food to Skid Row residents.

ABOUT THE LA MISSION: Los Angeles Mission is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the homeless living on the streets of downtown's Skid Row. They offer meals, housing, and services ranging from rehabilitation to bridge housing to career and job counseling.

THE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY YOU'D LEAD: At "SERVE IT UP: Prep and Provide Meals for the Homeless at LA Mission," 5-10 volunteers bring a warm, hearty meal to some of the 1,800 homeless served daily. Volunteers will organize/clean the kitchen, prepare/serve the meal, and know they're preventing some Skid Row residents from going hungry.

AS THE PROJECT LEADER, YOU'D BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Calling/emailing volunteers who signed up

Training volunteers on safety and hygiene protocol

Communicate with L.A. Works and LA Mission about how the project is going

Inputting attendance

TIME COMMITMENT: You'd commit to leading one shift for 6 months, every other week:

every other Saturday, 9:00AM - 1:00PM

every other Saturday, 2:00PM - 5:30PM

every other Sunday, 9:00AM - 1:00PM

every other Sunday, 2:00PM - 5:30PM

LOCATION: Skid Row, Downtown

PROJECT LEADER REQUIREMENTS:

Must be fully vaccinated

Must attend 1 LA Works and 1 LA Mission training

Commit to leading project for 6 months or more
