During these unprecedented times, the world can really use more kindness.
Join Crayon Collection in setting our SECOND Guinness World Record for "The Most Handwritten Notes Uploaded to Instagram in One Hour" by writing Notes of Kindness to send to people all over the country working to keep us safe, healthy, and connected.
Special guests include Oliver Jeffers, illustrator of the best-selling book series The Day the Crayons Quit as well as Joe Whale, aka "The Doodle Boy". In addition, Drew Daywalt, author of The Day the Crayons Quit, will do a special reading of his best-selling children’s book at the end of the event and will give away 100 copies of his book to Head Start teachers.
*All Volunteers must have an Instagram in order to participate. Notes of kindness must be uploaded to Instagram in order to count towards the Guinness World Record.

Mission Statement
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to collect as many crayons as possible and donate them to kids in need. Billions of crayons are produced in the U.S. each year, and much of that ends up in our landfills. These petroleum-derived crayons can take years - even decades- to decompose. Meanwhile, U.S. teachers in underfunded public schools are spending an average of $750 of their own income per year on supplies for their classrooms.
Description
Our solution - pairing participating Crayon Collection restaurant chains, such as California Pizza Kitchen and Islands Restaurants, with local high-poverty Title1 schools. These recipient schools pick up the restaurants' gently-used crayons every month to augment the supplies they need in their classrooms. Preschools and elementary schools throughout the country also hold crayon drives and donate to nearby schools in need, which teaches invaluable lessons to our youth about eco-mindedness.
