Volunteers will greet guests at the Comfort House and ensure that guests have access to their rooms, and understand the policies for staying at the house. All guests are out-of-town patients receiving outpatient care in the Augusta area, or are a caregiver of a qualified patient at a local hospital. No physical contact with guests is required and social distancing is expected at all times, however the volunteer will need to provide the guest with keys to their room and a short tour of the facility. Check-ins are by appointment only from 1pm-8pm, so volunteers would only need to support an agreed upon appointment time.

Mission Statement
Located in Augusta, Georgia, Comfort House provides low cost short term lodging and supportive companionship in a home-like environment for families and caregivers of out-of-town patients receiving care at Augusta area hospitals. Guests may stay at Comfort House upon receipt of a referral from an area hospital. There are no restrictions on the basis of race, sex, religion or national origin.
Description
The Comfort House is comprised of volunteers and is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt not-for-profit charitable corporation. It is supported solely by donations from churches, foundations, civic groups, businessess and individiduals, including former guests.

- 30 - 60 min per appointment. Volunteer can select which days they are available, and would only be needed when new guests arrive.
- Interpersonal skills are preferred. Volunteer must be able to navigate a single flight of stairs safely.
