MSC-South; 525 5th Street,SF
MSC-South is 1 of 4 programs of St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco (www.svdp-sf.org) & the largest homeless shelter in Northern CA catering to approximately 410 people each and every day.

During this COVID-19 pandemic, St. Vincent de Paul Society continues to support those who rely on us when they have nowhere else to go. Our amazing kitchen staff provides three nutritious meals a day, but eating something different and special from time to time, is a real treat.

Hosted lunches provide an enjoyable experience for our clients and help them feel special and cared-for. We accept catered meals on Wednesday’s, Friday’s & Saturday’s, between the hours of 11-7pm. Please contact Kelly Garrett, Volunteer Manager ( kgarrett@svdp-sf.org) for more information.

Option 1

Your volunteer team can help by choosing a menu from one of three vendors we provide you (or you can chose your own), and underwriting the cost for 125 people. On the day of the event we will provide a menu board that describes the food and that it’s provided by your volunteer group. Or, create and decorate your own menu board which we will proudly display. Recommended budget for this option is $15 per meal, to feed up to 100 guests a specialty meal.

Option 2

Sponsoring a catered buffet or hiring a food truck to serve our guests is also an option. This would allow for individual customization and for our guests to enjoy a hot meal straight from the source. For example, a Chinese buffet or a taco truck would certainly excite our residents and provide a rare treat.

Alternatively, a one-time donation of any amount to help cover a day of meals, or a week of meals provided by our staff would also be welcomed. You can donate here on our website https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/svdpsf

About St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco

Location:

525 5th Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, US

Mission Statement

The St. Vincent de Paul Society was established in San Francisco more than 155 years ago and was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1964. It remains one of the oldest charities, as well as one of the largest social service agencies in the City. Our mission is to offer hope and service on a direct person-to-person basis, working to break the cycles of poverty, homelessness, addiction and domestic violence. We believe in recognizing the humanity in each and every one of us, no matter who we are or how we live. Every day, we welcome hundreds of women, children and men who are alone and suffering. We know from experience that no one can change or grow until they are cared for and regain stability, so that’s where we start - by showing them kindness, unconditional respect, and the support they need to begin their journey forward.

Description

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco (SVDP-SF) offers 2 programs to help people overcome poverty, homelessness, addiction & domestic violence:

1) MSC-South - the largest homeless shelter in Northern CA, supporting approximately 400 people a day, every day of the year, by providing shelter, two meals a day, case management, and various other services.

2) Riley Center - our program that offers safe and confidential supportive services, community resources, and shelter to domestic violence survivors and their children.

We could not possibly accomplish all that we do without our generous and hard-working base of volunteers. Please see our current volunteer opportunities to see how you can help us advance our mission!
