CALLING ALL HEROES

Who we are:

Freedom City, Inc is a nonprofit organization that seeks to remove barriers and provide supports for students and families in Oklahoma City to reach their potential. Our Freedom Mentoring program provides at-risk students with a loving and caring mentor. These students have been faced with a variety of adverse childhood experiences leaving them to face difficult emotions that impact their potential to succeed in certain areas. Freedom City Inc. has a vision to provide a hope informed mentor for these students- a mentor that will meet with them weekly to allow them to discuss any issues at hand, connect them to any resources they may need, and to help them build their potential and hope for a better tomorrow.

What would my responsibilities be as a mentor?
Once you sign up to mentor, our Community Engagement Manager will contact you and invite you to a brief training for how our pen pal system works (both virtual and in person options will be available). You will be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire to best match you to a mentee. This opportunity is to volunteer in person at either F.D. Moon Middle School or John Marshall Middle School during the student's lunch hour!
