Founded in 1991, the Ostego Bay Foundation Marine Science Center is a self funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, tax I.D. number 65-0307348.
The mission of the Ostego Bay Foundation, Inc. is to promote the understanding, preservation and enhancement of our unique marine environment through education, research and community involvement. The Foundation provides interactive educational experiences to encourage stewardship of our natural resources.
The Ostego Bay Foundation Inc. is seeking a Research Director to carry on the works of the late Dr. Hugh Mitchell Taping in the realm of marine mammals, estuary and sea grass studies of the Ostego Bay/Matanzas Pass and San Carlos Bay area located in the area of Fort Myers Beach & Sanibel Island. This is volunteer only position, perfect for a retiree that would like to contribute to the environmental sciences and help promote conservation through education without the stress of a corporate environment.
