This opportunity consists of packing nutritionally balanced monthly food boxes for The Commodity Supplemental Food Program. This program provides nutrient-rich foods to older adults with low-income. Each box is packed based on the MyPlate nutritional guide and may contain cereal, fruit juice, canned (fruit, vegetables, meat, and fish), dry or canned beans or peanut butter, pasta or rice, shelf stable or dry milk, and cheese. Items are packed on a line, we ask that a mask be worn, each space is 6 Ft apart adjacent to you and in front you will have to rotate putting in items. There will be a break half through packing. Depending on our speed and number of volunteers we may end early.
Teenagers 14+ are welcome to volunteer if an adult guardian goes with them.
