¡SEPA Mujer te quiere a ti como voluntaria para nuestra línea directa de Ayuda Latina!
¡ESTA ES UNA GRAN OPORTUNIDAD DE NO SOLO IMPACTAR POSITIVAMENTE A LOS MIEMBROS DE SU COMUNIDAD, PERO TAMBIÉN ES UNA GRAN OPORTUNIDAD PARA AUMENTAR SU CONOCIMIENTO EN CUESTIONES QUE TOCAN LAS VIDAS DE LATINAS !
Ayuda Latina se lanzó el 8 de abril del 2020 como parte del Programa de Asistencia a las Víctimas de SEPA Mujer, financiado por la Oficina de Servicios a las Víctimas del Estado de Nueva York. Es un programa que tiene como objetivo ayudar a las inmigrantes latinas que han sido víctimas de un delito, sin embargo, la demografía de las personas que llaman varía mucho. Ofrecemos servicios para víctimas de violencia doméstica, agresión sexual, violencia de pandillas, abuso infantil, trata de personas, delitos de odio y robo de salarios. Las referencias internas incluyen servicios de administración de casos, un grupo de apoyo para agresiones sexuales, asistencia con solicitudes de compensación para víctimas de delitos, alivio legal de inmigración para víctimas de delitos y un especialista en robo de salarios, así como un grupo de apoyo para violencia doméstica que llegará en el otoño del 2020.
Como voluntaria de la línea directa, el objetivo principal es escuchar, escuchar, escuchar y proporcionar apoyo emocional a la persona que llama. Es importante ayudarlas a sentir que realmente comprenden sus situaciones y lo que buscan lograr al final de la llamada. Las voluntarias de la línea directa pueden proporcionar una referencia interna a la administradora de casos del programa o referencias externas a otros servicios de víctimas. También deben completar la información demográfica, así como cualquier otra información relevante sobre cada llamada que reciben.
REQUISITOS
- Deseo de ayudar a las víctimas de delitos
- Asistir a todas las capacitaciones sobre temas relevantes de la línea directa (aproximadamente 40 horas)
- Estar disponible cada 4to jueves del mes para reuniones de supervisión de 5:30 p.m. a 7:00 p.m.
- Actualmente se realizan de forma remota, pero eventualmente volverán las reuniones en persona (Condado de Suffolk)
- Tener un teléfono para el desvío de llamadas y una conexión a Internet confiable para tomar los datos de los clientes.
- Dominio en el idioma español, bilingüe en inglés y español preferido pero no requerido.
- Poder hacer un compromiso de un año de participación en la línea directa

SEPA Mujer stands for the well-being and success of Latina immigrant women on Long Island. Our objective is to raise and unite our voices to be heard by social and political systems in our communities. Through our work, we strive to nurture and improve civic engagement by way of leadership skills and legal representation. At SEPA Mujer we aim to highlight the value of Latina immigrant women in our community and to develop and celebrate our role on Long Island. Through our programs we have come to know the reality of the discrimination and fear which immigrant women on Long Island so often face, but together we will overcome these challenges.
Description
SEPA Mujer, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been working to support immigrant women on Long Island since 1993 by bringing together community members and advocates to speak out against injustice, provide access to opportunities and services, take a stand against domestic violence and other abuses, and push for social change. We work with individuals and in partnerships with other organizations (immigrant rights, civil rights, and domestic violence based).

- Cada voluntaria debe de hacer un compromiso de por lo menos un año para la linea directa. Voluntarias serán entrenadas en temas como intervención de crisis, escucha activa, apoyo emocional, como también los temas que trata la linea directa.
- Voluntarias requieren 40 horas de entrenamiento. También deben de estar disponibles para reuniones de supervisión cada tercer Jueves del mes de 5:30pm-7:00pm.
