ORGANIZATION: Climate Action Pathways for Schools

Climate Action Pathways for Schools (CAPS) partners with schools to provide inspiring climate education programs and implement projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while saving money for the school district. We develop project-based learning programs to prepare students for highly skilled career pathways and help them develop projects that mitigate climate change. We aim our climate action program towards under-resourced schools.

We are seeking your support for our 501(c)(3) organization's bookkeeping and accounting activities. These efforts include developing and implementing procedures to record organization transactions (operating expenses, donations, etc.) utilizing our chart of accounts, accounting software and spreadsheets, The ideal candidate will help manage our bookkeeping processes on a regular basis, as well as support the preparation of financial reports and allocation of costs.

Your work will serve as a foundation for our organization's accounting management and reporting and will be essential as we build and scale our organization.

We provide pain internships that help prepare students for highly skilled college and career pathways and support them in the development of projects that mitigate climate change. At the same time, these projects reduce operating costs for school districts. We aim our climate action program primarily under-resourced schools.

Description

The CAPS programs go beyond classroom education by harnessing the interest and commitment of students to learn about climate science and apply that knowledge to solving real world problems at their schools and contribute to growing global efforts to reduce greenhouse gases in local communities.

  • Must be at least 18
  • The ideal candidate would have excellent attention to detail, great communications skills, and knowledge of accounting and payroll processing. Proficiency with QuickBooks and experience working with nonprofits are required.
