Special Olympics North Carolina is seeking energetic and motivated individuals to serve as Unified Workout Partners with Special Olympic athletes. This is an unique volunteer experience you can do from anywhere. Volunteers will virtually partner with a Special Olympic athlete for fun workouts while communicating and motivating each other. Daily exercises and activities will be provided to keep up the momentum.
This training program will allow Special Olympics athletes the opportunity to participate in a season regardless of the limitations caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Participating in these sessions helps athletes connect to others to combat the feeling of isolation during these tough times.
- The season will be from September 8 through November 20.
- Workouts will be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
- The season will wrap up with a virtual dance party.
- Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt with a chance to win weekly raffle prizes from SONC and sponsors!
Please respond with your contact information so we can share more details regarding this exciting opportunity. You will be asked to complete a volunteer screening form and online training. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to email volunteers@sonc.net.
