ORGANIZATION: United Nations Association-USA Information Center of the East Bay

  • 6 people are interested

The UNA East Bay Information & UNICEF Center has been in existence for over 30 years and is part of the UNA East Bay Chapter, one of the oldest and largest chapters of the United Nations Association. The center has moved around Berkeley and Oakland several times in its 30 years and our loyal patrons have always found us, we are currently located inside a church; in a very small space and have not been open since the pandemic started.

We carry United Nations and UNICEF merchandise year around; as well as; handcrafted items by local artisans. During the holidays we offer UNICEF Cards and fair trade merchandise from around the world. The profit supports UNICEF'S vital work and programs to bring awareness to the importance of UNICEF and the United Nations.

The holidays are the highest revenue months at the center and they are fast approaching- We need your help!

We are seeking a social media manager who will position the center on social platforms- Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, to drive traffic to our upcoming website where merchandise is available for sale.

Your expertise will maintain a posting schedule, regularly create platform-specific content- text posts, videos, and graphic images and to be able to run post frequency tests to determine effectiveness and make adjustments accordingly.

The pandemic has a threefold effect on the centers ability to raise money for UNICEF-first with the center closed we are not purchasing merchandise from UNICEF for re-sale, secondly money earned through the year is sent directly to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF-and lastly with the pandemic it will take more money to help children around the world.

This is a virtual volunteer position.

Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to meeting you and hearing your ideas.
