What we are looking for:


We are looking for a talented individual who can serve as a member of our Board of Directors. This individual will serve as our Board's Treasurer and should be willing to invest between 15-20 hours a month. If you have experience serving on a nonprofit Board of Directors or would be interested in gaining experience, we would be interested in hearing from you. We are preferably looking for someone who has a background in business finance and strong fundraising skills. Interviews will be held beginning in August-October, 2020. Essential Job Functions
  • Work in Partnership with the CEO to monitor all financial information monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Assist Board members in understanding financial data and appropriate interpretation of financial statements (Treasurer only).
  • Participant in all fundraising activities (i.e. grant research, host events, and soliciting donations/sponsorships).
  • Participant in community outreach activities.
  • Commit to making an quadrimester financial tax deductible contribution as a board member.
Time Commitment and Expectations
  • Commit to 2 hours of attendance at monthly board meetings, which occur on the first Tuesday of each month.
  • Commit time to researching grant opportunities monthly.
  • Commit time to participating in fundraising events.
  • Commit time to community outreach activities.

Qualifications

  • Business finance experience- Treasurer (preferred)
  • Experience serving as a board member (preferred)
  • Leadership experience.
  • Knowledge about basic adult education.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Demonstrate a servant, collaborative leadership style.

YOURpath for Adult Learner’s mission is to ensure that every adult student enrolled in our program achieves his/her high school equivalency diploma by successfully passing either the General Education Development (GED) or the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), and has access to resources for advance learning and employment/career opportunities upon the attainment of his/her diploma.

Who we are: YOURpath for Adult Learners is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, offering adult students access to online GED & HISET preparation courses. Through these courses, students gain the content knowledge and literacy/numeracy skills that they need to take and pass their high school state assessment and earn their high school equivalency diploma.
