Now more than ever, we need your help keeping Woodstock Farmers Market Safe during COVID-19!

Volunteers help to make our market a safe community space for all to enjoy, and with their help Woodstock Farmers Market has earned the reputation of being a socially-distanced and enjoyable market.
We need volunteers every Sunday from June 7- October 25, 2020.

Volunteer Roles
COVID-19 has changed our market in many ways, including our volunteer roles. In typical years, we have a wider range of offerings and types of shifts, but due to social distancing and our simplified market format we only have a few types of roles to offer currently. Despite these changes, volunteer help is still greatly needed and appreciated!

Market Greeters, aka Entrance/Exit Monitors or floaters, are stationed at either the entrance or the exit, and help with welcoming shoppers, answering customer questions, asking shoppers to wear masks, and doing crowd counts. In order to ensure social distancing we cap the number of people in the market at the same time, and volunteers in this role will either welcome shoppers in if there's room or ask them to please wait. The morning and afternoon floaters will also help with minimal set-up/takedown. The midday floater shift is a great option for those unable to do heavy lifting. All floaters will be interacting a lot with our shoppers.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide access for all to quality fresh produce, address food insecurity, represent community diversity and strengthen neighborhood relationships through our support of local farmers and by providing a central gathering place. The market promotes healthy eating, food education, and close ties between farms and our urban community.

Description

The Woodstock Farmers market has been connecting our community to local Oregon farmers since 2011. A huge part of our success has been the amazing group of volunteers that show up each Sunday throughout the season to lend their time and enthusiasm to one of Portland’s favorite farmers markets. We couldn’t do this without you!

Volunteers help to make our market a safe functioning community space for all to enjoy, and with their help Woodstock Farmers Market has earned the reputation of being a socially-distanced and enjoyable market during 2020.
