Being a volunteer mentor, a Big, with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier is both fun and rewarding! You can make a big difference in the life of a child in your community.

Your time as a volunteer is flexible. You'll meet with your Little at least 2 times per month.

Bigs & Littles are encouraged to share simple, everyday activities that focus on building a friendship and having fun while developing interests, skills and feelings of self-accomplishment for the Little. To be a mentor, you must be able to commit to at least one year of being a Big.

Big Brothers Big Sisters adheres to all necessary safety guidelines related to COVID-19.

We create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. We’re always looking for people eager to invest in the future of a child in their community. For a few hours, a couple times a month, you can give (and receive) the invaluable gift of friendship.

Description

Big Brothers Big Sisters operates under the belief that in every child is incredible potential. We have been matching caring adults with local children for more than 45 years and have impacted the lives of over 11,000 youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters aims to make meaningful, monitored matches between volunteers ("Bigs") and children ("Littles"), ages 5 through young adulthood in Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier. These quality relationships are built on friendship and trust, and are proven to be a significant positive influence in the life of the child, and the volunteer.
