The Sew-A-Thon event supplies more than 3500 handmade cloth drawstring bags each year to foster youth and enables them to carry their personal belongings with dignity through placement changes. Each year over 150 volunteers get together in a day-long event to make these bags.

Due to Covid-19, this year’s event will be held virtually. Though we are not able to have the event onsite, the importance of why we make the bags are more important than ever. Foster youth continue to enter the foster care system and we foresee this number to grow throughout this pandemic.

EBF is proud that nearly ninety cents of each dollar donated goes directly into services provided for children and adults. We are able to maintain this efficiency because we value partnerships and create strategic collaborations that are dedicated to making the most of every dollar raised.

WHY PARTNER WITH EASTER SEALS BLAKE FOUNDATION?

Founded in 1950, EBF has been serving individuals with disabilities and their families throughout Southern Arizona, with the capacity to positively impact the lives of over 1.3 million people each year. We currently have a presence and offer programs in Pima, Cochise, Santa Cruz, Graham, Pinal and Greenlee counties.

Every dollar raised for the organization goes back into our local community.
