Butterfly Garden Milkweed

If you're unable to make it to one of our garden workdays, Keep North Charleston Beautiful has several volunteer opportunities that you can complete individually, on your own schedule.

1 - Plan a litter cleanup in North Charleston, and receive a litter cleanup supply kit from Keep North Charleston Beautiful.

Learn more about planning a litter cleanup here:
https://www.northcharleston.org/residents/community/community-issues/keep-north-charleston-beautiful/programs/request-cleanup-supplies-2/

2 - Volunteer for KNCB's Bloom Kit program. KNCB will provide you the tools and training to work in our gardens at a time that works best for you. (If you have a group of 5 or more people, you can also participate in our Flowerscape program where your group adopts a section of the Park Circle Butterfly Garden to work in once each month.)

Learn about the Bloom Kit program here:

3 - Cut cardboard for us to use in our gardens. KNCB uses cardboard and newspaper as a natural weed barrier in our gardens. If you have large cardboard boxes and would like to learn how you can cut it down into smaller sheets to use in the gardens, email us at kncbsc@gmail.com and we will send you an instruction sheet.

If you have any questions, or would like to learn more about any of these independent opportunities, email us at kncbsc@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE: KNCB staff are not on-site for activities that are completed independently, and as such, staff cannot verify or sign off on volunteer or community service hours completed during these independent cleanups.
