Ritter Center

Need: 2 or 3 volunteers Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Task: Screen participants who are coming to receive food. Help stock the food bank and prepare grocery bags. Required: Volunteers must be 18 years old and able to lift 10 lbs to 15 lbs. Provided: N95 mask, gloves, hand sanitizer. In the screener role we have goggles and face shields as well. The way we are operating is we have 2 lines. One screen everybody that may need to come inside the facility to meet with a case manager, clinic appointment, and volunteers. The other line is where people come pick up groceries. We set the groceries on the table and the person takes it from there. We have premade bags for housed individuals and bags for unhoused individuals. We really need support with volunteers in our screening line as there are days where we get busy and overwhelmed. We do on site N95 mask fit test done to make sure the person doing the screening wears the best fitting PPE. We have a clinician that provides the training to do the screener role. We also need support in our pantry with volunteers. We receive about 7000 lbs of food from the food bank every week and bringing it inside stocking it and preparing the grocery bags are the duties included with volunteering. There is a requirement to be able to lift 10 lbs to 15 lbs. We provide N95 masks, gloves and hand sanitizer. We do have an age requirement which is no younger than 18 years old. Our schedule for essential services is devided in two shifts: 10:00 am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 3:00 pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I manage the pantry as well so I do the pantry volunteer training and directing. Thank you for your time.
