ORGANIZATION: Feeding America San Bernardino

Do you want to help get food to senior, disabled, and home-bound residents in need? Join our Nourish Now program! Nourish Now volunteers deliver food to people in the community who are not able to visit food banks during their time of need due to physical and travel limitations.

  • Upon registration, you'll be added to a list to sign up for deliveries in your neighborhood.
  • Simply select a date to pick up items, pick your destinations, and deliver free food to people in need.
  • Pick up is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3 pm.
Requirements

The minimum age to volunteer is 12 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone during the entire shift. Upon registration, minors must have a release form signed by a parent or guardian. Parents or guardians must sign a separate release form for themselves.

NOTE: We are NOT accepting court-order volunteers at this time.

Description

Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino ("FARSB") began in April 1980 as Survive Food Bank, distributing about 10,000 pounds of food per month and partnering with about 20 local nonprofit agencies. Today, FARSB distributes over 2.5 million pounds of food per month and partners with over 250 local nonprofit organizations. FARSB is one of 200 food banks affiliated with Feeding America, the National Food Bank Network. FARSB serves the Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, aka the Inland Empire. There are over 800,000 people who live below the poverty line in the Inland Empire and over 500,000 people who are food insecure. Our food bank is the largest hunger-relief organization in the Inland Empire, with over 200,000 people who rely on us each month.
