College students: Are you looking for a meaningful way to spend your summer break? Make a difference for a hospice patient by providing companionship, helping with light housework, providing caregiver support, or sharing a talent. We need you!
AccentCare Hospice & Palliative Care of NJ provides a special type of healthcare to patients who are at the end of their life. Direct Support Volunteers help by providing compassionate support to our patients and their family members. You can make a difference by...
- Reading aloud
- Singing or playing a musical instrument
- Creating scrapbooks and reminiscing
- Writing letters for the patient
- Sitting with a patient so caregivers can take a break
- Holding a hand
Volunteers are required to be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation. COVID vaccine and booster are required for this opportunity. AccentCare Hospice provides service to patients and families in their own homes or nursing facilities. Visits are typically 1-3 hours a week and are flexible; they are based on your availability and location.
AccentCare serves patients in Middlesex, Monmouth, Somerset, and Mercer counties.
