Help Service Members, Veterans and their Families by Becoming an American Red Cross Mental Health Volunteer!

Are you enthusia stic about Red Cross? Would you like to support our military by leading workshops for soldiers and families t o help manage the stress of deployments? Would you like to help others who may be struggling with personal hardship, mental health or addiction issues?

You have the unique opportunity to make a difference in your military community. Service to the Armed Forces Mental Health volunteers facilitate psychoeducational workshops for service members, veterans and families experiencing challenges related to military and veteran life.

If you are a Clinically Licensed Behavioral Health Practitioner, we invite you to join our team of outstanding mental health professionals!

* Complete onboarding provided by your local Red Cross office to become a Red Cross volunteer.

* Attend a Red Cross facilitator training session.

* Start facilitating workshops, and make a difference in military and veteran communities!

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • We ask our facilitators to facilitate at least two workshops each year. These workshops are frequently during workdays but can be in the evenings or on weekends depending on the audience.
  • Hold a Master’s level or higher health professional degree Maintain an active, independent and unencumbered clinical license at all times. Accepted licenses are Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy
