Mission: Michelson Found Animals is a Los Angeles nonprofit devoted to animal welfare! We are an organization of avid animal lovers who focus our efforts on decreasing the number of homeless pets in shelters. We have two Adopt & Shop locations with dogs and cats pulled from high-kill shelters, giving them a second chance at adoption with a number of volunteer and foster opportunities. Adopt & Shop is also a nonprofit pet store, offering a variety of pet products and services to help support our adoptions program!

Weekday morning volunteers are always greatly appreciated! But, our pets need help 7-days per week.

Volunteer Roles and Opportunities: The Kitten Nursery is located out of our Culver City Adopt & Shop. This program focuses on kittens between the ages of 4-8 weeks of age who are not yet old enough to be placed up for adoption. We need volunteers to help care for kittens in the nursery by cleaning kennels, socializing and feeding and medicating the kittens while we work to find them a temporary foster home where they will stay until they are old enough to be placed up for adoption.

Requirements: Minimum 8 hours/month, at least 3-month commitment.

A basic range of motion and energy to complete tasks like sweeping, mopping, lifting/moving up to 25lbs.
