Train up with NOLA Ready

NOLA Ready is training volunteers to help with hurricane response. In the event of a mandatory hurricane evacuation, thousands of NOLA residents need help evacuating. Through City-Assisted Evacuation, NOLA residents are provided free transport out of the city and to a safe shelter away from the dangerous storm. To help with this life-saving operation, NOLA Ready is training hundreds of evacuation volunteers to work alongside first responders & City staff to help everyone get to safety. As an evacuation volunteer, you will STILL evacuate, just after having helped your neighbors first.

Take our on-demand 30 min training, where you’ll learn how you can join the City of New Orleans this hurricane season in the critical effort to keep our residents safe and out of harm's way during a mandatory hurricane evacuation:

Get Involved as an Evacuation Volunteer

  • Step 1: Create a volunteer profile and fill out the 2021 Hurricane Response Volunteer Form with your contact info, volunteer preferences, and emergency contact.
  • Step 2: Take our on-demand Intro to City-Assisted Evacuation Volunteer Training (CAE 101)
  • Step 3: Remain on standby for CAE activation in the event of a mandatory hurricane evacuation.

Follow these steps on ready.nola.gov/volunteer.
