California Coalition for Youth
For more than 30 years, the California Coalition for Youth has operated the California Youth Crisis Line (CYCL), a toll-free helpline available 24 hours a day to youth and their families in crisis or need. The CYCL receives 20,000+ calls annually; highly trained counselors respond to these calls with confidential and non-judgmental crisis intervention counseling. They also provide referrals to assist callers with issues such as family problems, runaway and homelessness, depression, bullying, teen pregnancy, substance abuse, suicide, and more.
People ages 16 and up are needed to train as volunteer counselors to talk with teens and parents who call the line.
Don't think you're qualified? That's OK, training is provided and no experience is necessary.
NEXT TRAINING STARTS SEPTEMBER 9TH!
