Quick Overview: Have time available this summer? Have an outgoing personality and like interacting with people? We need volunteers to help monitor the door when our Center re-opens in July. Mission or Broader Program Description: St. Margaret's Center, a program of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles Inc., has served low-income and homeless families since 1987. The Center provides a comprehensive range of emergency and supportive services to about 10,000 unduplicated individuals annually in the Los Angeles "L.A.X." area, primarily those living in the cities or streets of Lennox and surrounding communities. During these changing times St. Margaret's Center has been on the front lines providing meals to those in need. For more information please visit our website: https://sites.google.com/site/smcxmas/Covid-19Response Impact: As LA County starts to reopen, we are going back to our normal services as well and we need help! We are a community resource center in Inglewood serving the local LAX community's poverty-level families by providing many services such as, food and diapers to families, sack lunches, hygiene kits and showers to homeless, and financial assistance to families in need. While it is necessary for us to go back to normal, we also need to ensure we meet the necessary precautions for Covid-19. Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: We need volunteers to help direct clients to ensure with physical distancing by limiting client flow in the lobby and taking their temperature. We have several shifts available. Our hours are 8:30-5pm, (closed for lunch, noon to 1pm), on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Two shifts available, 9-12pm or 1-4pm.
