ORGANIZATION: Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes

Hello! Are you interested in addressing food insecurity and hunger in your community? Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes operates a pantry program every weekday of the year, assisting around 600 families per month.

As a pantry volunteer, assistance is needed in various tasks, including working with our client families directly, packing bags of pantry goods to distribute, sorting deliveries from local farms, cleaning, and other functions as they arise.

Being bilingual in Spanish is an excellent skill but not required. Many of our volunteers are monolingual.

If you have a time conflict with either of the shifts listed, contact us, and we'll be able to find a suitable time slot.

Description

Founded in 1989, Loaves and Fishes is a community-based organization dedicated to alleviating hunger among working low-income families, farmworkers, and elderly, disabled, and homeless individuals of the Pajaro Valley. We help sustain the lives of thousands of individuals by assisting them with nutritious food, education, and referrals in cooperation with other agencies. We envision a Pajaro Valley community in which all people have access to healthy food and the other necessities of life. We are committed to working collaboratively to develop a healthier, more food-secure community through direct service and advocacy.
