Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County

  • 1 person is interested

The Volunteer Center is coordinating volunteers for our own senior programs and mental health support programs to distribute food to people who are in vulnerable populations and unable to go shopping. We are also referring volunteers to community organizations and services provided by the County of Santa Cruz to meet community needs including new shelters for unhoused people in North and South County. By expressing interest in this project you will be added to our list of COVID 19 response volunteers and will receive email and/or phone updates about volunteer needs as they arise. We may need to interview you before referring you to some projects. Our goal is always to match volunteers with the program that is in need of volunteers AND that fits with your skills and interests. For information about how to safely volunteer in the community during this public health emergency please download SAFETY TIPS FOR VOLUNTEERING IN LIGHT OF COVID19. Out of an abundance of caution, we request that you DO NOT VOLUNTEER in the community if: You have had contact with anyone with confirmed COVID-19 in the past 14 days. You have you had any of these symptoms in the past 14 days: fever greater than 100, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, loss of smell or taste. You are at increased risk due to: heart condition, lung disease, liver disease, kidney disease, asthma, diabetes, immunocompromised (including cancer treatments) or any other serious health condition that puts you at risk. You are a caregiver for someone who has increased risk. You are over the age of 65 If you are not able to volunteer in the community at this time you can still fill out the form and volunteer for one of our At Home Volunteer projects to support this effort.
