WHAT: Teach Spanish-speaking parents basic computer skills so they can help their children with online schooling. ABOUT AVIVA: Aviva Family and Children’s Services provides a comprehensive range of diverse and culturally sensitive therapeutic and educational programs to help at-risk, emotionally distressed, abused, and neglected youth- as well as their families - function more effectively. THE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY YOU'D LEAD: In the "Computer Literacy Skills for Parents" remote opportunity, volunteers will 1-on-1 mentor parents on basic computer skills - starting from literally just turning a computer on. Anyone with basic computer skills may participate. AS THE PROJECT LEADER, YOU'D BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Managing the volunteer opportunity post and replying to any volunteer questions Orienting mentor volunteers Kicking off and ending the online mentoring sessions Managing all communication between Aviva and L.A. Works TIME: Class will be two hours each Saturday. LOCATION: Online PROJECT LEADER REQUIREMENTS: Must speak Spanish Attend an L.A. Aviva’s programs result in lasting changes in the lives of children, teens and families as they receive the help they need to cope with traumatic experiences and are able to develop appropriate social, behavioral and independent living skills.
