Faith in Action of Solano

Phone buddy volunteers call a matched homebound senior at least weekly. Time length of a phone reassurance call is minimally 20 minutes. The number of phone calls per week are at the discretion of either the volunteer or the senior. For many seniors, the call from one of Faith in Action's phone buddies may be the only call received. A very simple need but vital need to fulfill. Volunteers are needed in all 7 cities in Solano County. Volunteers must agree to a background check. Call (707) 469-6675 to register to volunteer.

Volunteers are the heart and backbone of the agency. Who We Are: The agency provides non-acute, non-medical in-home support services to homebound seniors. All services are provided by volunteers. Services can include transportation to and from medical or social service appointments, transportation to life enhancement activities, grocery shopping, phone reassurance, home visits, in-home peer counseling, support groups either in person or by teleconference, light house cleaning, yard work, and respite for family caregivers. All services are subsidized through grants or government contracts; donations are accepted. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
