We can always use Office Volunteers to keep Sammie's Friends purring! This opportunity is at the Cat Facility located at Sammie's Friends Nevada County Animal Shelter at 14647 McCourtney Rd, Grass Valley, CA 95949. Morning Shifts Monday-Saturday from 8am to 12pm Responsibilities include answering phones, greeting the public and other light duties to assist the staff with the morning routine of managing the shelter. Afternoon Shifts Monday-Saturday from 12pm to 4pm Responsibilities include answering phones, checking in volunteers, greeting the public, directing the public into the kennels and assisting the staff with adoption paperwork. More specifically... Responsibilities and Duties: Welcome members of the public and assist them in their visit to the shelter. May include directing them to another staff member or to the kennels. Answering phones to help with the volume of calls received at the shelter. May include answering general questions or redirecting the call to a member of the staff. Helping with steps involved in adoptions, fosters, or inquiries about volunteering. Understanding computers is helpful and may assist in taking on other tasks that help the overall day-to-day operations. Qualifications: Positive customer service skills. Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing. Must be 16 years or older. How to join the Office Team: EXPRESS INTEREST and our Operations Manager will contact you to find out what days and times you are available. They will also schedule a time for you to come and train with another office volunteer.
