The Giving Farm is a farm-to-food bank program that works to promote student and community engagement in the California agricultural industry through the collaboration between, the OC Food Bank, Westminster High School Agriculture Sciences Program, Solutions for Urban Agriculture, and the OC Farm Bureau.
Every person that volunteers with The Giving Farm will be an empowering force to helping change our community. Volunteers will be working on an 8-acre farm supporting the day-to-day operations such as planting, weeding, and harvesting to help in providing approximately 200,000 pounds of produce annually to our community members most in need. Work will consist of repetitive manual labor such as kneeling down to plant transplants and bending over to remove unwanted plant debris. Materials will be provided.
Volunteers must be 18 years old or older and free of any common flu symptoms, i.e. fever or cough.
Further information will be sent via email after expressing interest to volunteer.
