Partners in English Language Learning (PiELL) is a non-profit organization that has been teaching adult English Language Learners in our region with 40 to 50 trained volunteer tutors for more than 30 years. ESL is a widely used term meaning English as a Second Language. We match each learner with a personal tutor, and together they determine hours and location that are mutually agreeable. The tutoring is always free. While the most visible volunteer role with PiELL is tutoring an English Language Learner, there are many other areas where your efforts can benefit our organization.
Auditor: PiELL requires bi-annual audits as a requirement for one of our grants, United Way. Our organization is a small, local nonprofit, with annual income less than $20K. Financials are straightforward, comprised mainly of payroll and associated taxes for one P/T employee (processed by a local bank), board insurance, and materials for tutoring.
This applicant should live in the local community, western Nevada County, California.
