Supports our D&E Program coordinator in their mission to provide quality youth programming focused on expanding youth experiences around the concepts of diversity, inclusion and equity.
Ensures that LYG policies and protocols are sensitive to the needs of all staff and participants, and makes recommendations on adding or addressing policies.
Identifies and creates relationships with other individuals and organizations that support the development of DE&I work at LYG.
Reccomends trainings and other experiences to expand the LYG community's understanding of creating an accessible and inclusive organization.

Louisville Youth Group is a safe space for LGBTQIA+ young adults that promotes personal and community growth through relationship building, leadership development, and social justice activism. We are a community of leaders, mentors, and volunteers who accept, affirm and uplift young people regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity. Our goal is to always grow, learn, and adapt as a way to encourage inclusivity and foster a wide reach of understanding for all.

Description

Louisville Youth Group (LYG) is the primary LGBTQIA+ nonprofit community serving LGBTQIA+ youth in Kentuckiana. We provide a safe space for gender and sexuality diverse young adults to grow their identities, learn leadership skills, and develop the tools needed to both thrive personally and to act as agents of change in their communities.

LYG accomplishes these goals through our primary weekly programming, targeted leadership development opportunities, community partnerships, retreats, and through outreach to local school systems, healthcare agencies, and other groups providing education and care to LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults.
