Hospice Promise is looking for human/canine volunteer teams to provide casual meet and greet type activities to our patients in a variety of settings including group homes, skilled nursing homes, and private homes. Whether your pet can perform a few tricks, or offer a gentle nuzzle to a patient nearing the end of life, HospicePromise invites you to join our Promise Paws Program!
Pets must be certified, or seeking certification, through an accredited therapy pet organization. For additional information on available certification organizations please contact Hospice Promise for more information.
Hospice Promise is committed to following social distancing guidelines and CDC practices. Masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) are required and will be provided at no cost to you.
Volunteers are required to complete the Hospice PromiseVolunteer Training Program to prepare them for their hospice volunteer journey. Online training options are now available!

Description
HOSPICE Promise provides end of life medical care to patients with a terminal illness and a life expectancy of six (6) months or less.
Hospice services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, (including Holidays), if needed, and are provided in the comfort of the patient's home, ("home" may be a skilled nursing facility, group home, assisted living complex, private residence, or anywhere that the patient calls home).
A team of professionals, including a Physician, Nurse, Social Worker, Chaplain, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and a Volunteer, is assigned to each patient, and will provide individualized care based on the needs of the patient and family.
