Mission Statement
Providing equine assisted opportunities for healing, growth and learning.
Description
Serenity Farm Equestrian Center was founded in August of 2001, by Debra DeHoff. Our mission is to offer equine therapy to community members throughout Northwest Ohio. Over the years of community support and involvement, the farm has expanded several times to offer learning programs to children, families and professionals, and increase therapy programs. An average of 50 volunteers give over 5000 hours per year to ensure the success of the non- profit charity. Located just north of Luckey Ohio, the 19 ac farm is home to 9 equines who serve in the seasonal programs. Just 20 min southeast of Toledo, and 12 miles north of Bowling Green, our location is an easy access to clients and families that enjoy the magic of equine assisted learning and therapy. This Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) certified center offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, including PATH mentorships, to volunteers throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Volunteers can choose to work in our riding programs, learn to work with our mini horses in Team Thunder, or even complete behind the scenes or remote tasks. Just an hour a week can make a huge difference in the lives of those we serve. We are excited to be planning for our 20th year as an organization and pride ourselves in offering a unique and educational experience to both our riders and our volunteers.
