Note in the Pocket - Clothing for children in need
Your smiling face will be what people see first when they drop off clothing donations! Unload bags from donor cars, wheel them into the building in carts, and give donors tax receipts.
As a non-profit serving the children in Wake County schools, Note in the Pocket started with a simple mission: To Clothe Children in Dignity and Love. We believe that it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development because they do not have appropriate clothes for school. Our goal for 2020 is to clothe 5,000 in confidence! COVID-19 has caused an increase in the number of requests received, as many have lost jobs and income.
In 2019, Note received clothing requests for 4,575 individuals, mostly children, throughout all twelve cities and towns in Wake County. NITP has served over 23,800 individuals since receiving our 501C3 status in 2013 . Learn more about Note in the Pocket and the children we serve at https://noteinthepocket.org/.
Due to COVID-19 and its related social distancing guidelines, Note in the Pocket is opening a temporary 2nd location at Crossroads Fellowship (2721 E. Millbrook Rd in Raleigh). This additional space will allow us to expand our capacity by increasing our number of socially distanced volunteer stations. It will also provide extra space to receive and process new clothing donations. Thank you, Crossroads Fellowship!

Note in the Pocket's Mission Statement: Note in the Pocket provides clothes to homeless and impoverished students in Wake County. We believe it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development due to a lack of appropriate clothes.
Note in the Pocket is a 501c3 organization providing clothing to homeless and impoverished schoolchildren in Wake County. To meet our goal to clothe 5000 in 2020, we are expanding our Volunteer Center hours in an effort to keep pace with our rapidly growing clothing donations (200,000 pounds in 2019) and to allow us to expand the number of individuals and volunteer groups we can accommodate (volunteers logged over 15,000 hours in 2019).
We'll work with your schedule.
