Mission Statement

Africa Universities Fund, Inc. (AUF) is a 501(c)(3) public charity. It is an intervention to stop and reverse the perceived climate of decline in the quality of teaching and learning infrastructure in higher institutions in Africa.

Description

Some of our Goals: to promote the advancement of African universities through strategic activities around the world; raise financial and in-kind support for capital development projects and endowment; reverse brain drain; enhance or inject high-skills-based critical teaching and learning infrastructure in Africa's universities; run an accountable non-profit organization with measurable impact.
Our current program is to confront the financial crisis that is crippling public institutions in Africa. We are currently promoting the endowment culture; engaging policy makers and legislator to promote tax-incentives to encourage endowment; and creating endowment funds for our partner universities in the US. The University of Ghana and the Gambia Technical Training Institute are our pilot partners.
Our Digital Workplace Institute will be launched soon. The institute will allow young people to obtain a "minor certificate" in a vocational, STEM or digital technology skills, all online.
We are also engaging millions of African young people in higher institutions across Africa through the All-Africa Student Union. To raise awareness and spark tax-deductible and other donor resources for the enhancement and sustainability of a high-skills-based teaching and learning in Africa’s public universities through targeted events and projects.
